2D / 3D Still Life Collage in Mixed Media

In visual art, the making of an artwork in which more than one medium has been used
is called Mixed Media. When creating a collage in mixed media it is important to
choose the layers carefully and allow enough drying time between the layers to ensure
the final work will have consistency of mediums. Different media such as paint,
pastels, markers, gel pens, glue, cloth, glitter, construction or magazine paper are
used in making a mixed media collage.
Art Supplies needed for this project: sketch book, 2B pencil, eraser, felt
pen or fine tip marker (black), ruler, pair of scissors, construction paper, design /
printed paper & color pencils / paint.
Directions: Make a Still Life Collage using construction / design paper.
Take green (preffered) construction paper as base. Paste on top half of the page any
colored (plain) paper as wall. Paste on bottom half of the page any colored (printed)
paper or draw a pattern on plain paper and color / paint it as table cloth. Draw and
color three (3) still life objects: a fruit bowl, a vase or jug & some fruit
or any other object of your choice and paste them on the table cloth / wall.
You may cut and paste pictures of these still life objects from a book or magazine.
Your Still Life Drawing / Collage in Mixed Media is finished!
Turn in your finished project for grading during your class time.
Note: Late submissions do not get full credit.
